Apron day

Image
Tonight I am going to be  grumpy, I am in an awful mood.  Reasons, we did aprons,  a few weeks ago we did pencil cases, well, not all the girls did them, but were there, "sewing machine to heavy to bring"....... Well, there is a reason why we do pencil cases and aprons and carrying bags, TO LEARN!!!!! we learn to cut correctly,  we learn to follow directions, and to think, and we learn to sew straight with a certain seam allowance.  We also learn to ask questions, even if we think they are stupid ones, how can we grow if there is always "well, I don't need one, or I don't wear one, or I never use one".  I try to make a class where there is a learning process, and a reshape your hand to do it.  A piano player has to practice everyday, so do we, the more we do things the easier it  is to do, and the better we get.  Sometimes I think that they are doing  it is just to do it faster than the neighbor, and sometimes because the grass ...

My antique rocking chair

Image
My rocking chair was sent from Vermont to France by mail in a big box, big brother had taken it apart and was able to box it up.  Well, my daughter in law's father put it back together for me, and now I have a piece of home in my home.  I was so excited, it was made in 1884,by someone, and I think that someone should be very proud to know that it is still loved and taken care of.  It was in my Moms bedroom, and I always sat on it, small but just right!!

This is the largest of the quilts, and boy, what a quilt, I will never forget this one. With every stitch I made, the batting come out the other side.  I frogged it forever ___ I thought it was the tension, then the thread, then the needle, but no it was the batting.

Well, we were up at 5am and on the train at 7, arrived at 10:30ish, and off to L'aiguille en Fete,   Nice show if you could see something,  so many people, forget it, I walked around for about an hour, then we went to eat, saw some friends, went back looked around for another hour, and out the door I went, Hubby was already out the door.  Way to many people, and the isles to small, getting stepped on and no way to get to a booth to look or buy something.  We took off to the Marais, went to the American store that is called "THANKSGIVING" got some goodies, then off to the Champs Elysee for tea at LaDurée.  Back home at midnight just like Cinderella and well, almost off to bed. Here are a few pictures of our first escapade together to the capital. THANKSGIVING 20 RUE SAINT PAUL 75004 PARIS http://www.thanksgivingparis.com/ so sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the store front! did you see all that, and that is just a part of it, great...
