Poppy Quilt, the third of a four part series, I think!!!!

This week I learned allot about wild poppies,  they grow were there was life before,  very strange, and I will have to look into that.  Why do the VFW, Legion, etc use the poppy for an emblem?
Well, this is the third of the poppy quilts, I think that there is one more to quilt, This one is Claude's quilt, I did lots of feathers, and tried to make it different from the others, a very hard thing to do because I thought that the first ones were great, but this one is even greater.  I hope that you enjoy the pictures, I really had fun quilting this, even thought I had a really big scare in the middle of the quilting!!!!but that is just a lost  memory now.....

Here's a little poem about the poppy . . .

IN FLANDERS FIELDS POEM
The World’s Most Famous WAR MEMORIAL POEM
By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915
during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium
