AMERICAN ENGLISH GROCERY STORE IN MONTPELLIER!!!

So excited, went into town today to find something new.......I found the only food store in town that is dedicated to us USA'ers and of course the English, Scottish, etc, don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
It was great,  cake mixes and frosting, pumpkin to make pies or pumpkin bars, oh so nice, just a little bit of home in the south of France,  Hope to see the next time Fluff, and Karo syrup to make a pecan pie.   Here are a few pictures, Enjoy!!

Look at all those goodies!!!

Today was bag day or "Trousse"

I spent a day quilting material on Mom (on the long arm) with all sort of designs, it is a practice piece, but I did put nice material on and a plain backing so that the girls would have the quilted material to make make-up bags or pencil cases.  Well, they had a good time making them, here are some of the results. i will post more next week....I forgot my camera
The instructions on the case is at:
  in french http://www.croixpatch74.fr/
in english  http://gluegunannie.com/?p=227
Have fun, they are easy to make and are great gifts.

I almost missed it, by the time I found my camera, it was almost gone.  It must have bothered my friend because he wasn't sitting on his post.

Another Royal Cross

Well, I have been trying to decide how to quilt this Royal Cross, I sort of wanted feathers, but I came up with this design,

One of my favorite critiques on the blog is sick, (hope she gets well soon)
so your ideas are welcome.
It will go on Mom tomorrow.

Big Sale Season

Went into town today to see all the sales, in France it is sale season twice a year.  They have specials, during the year, but the big sales are in January and July or August.
My wallet didn't smoke, and I didn't say like Wilma Flintstone, "Charge it"
I went to the English tea store to get some tea, and he had his Christmas decorations on  sale for 50% off.
Oh my,  a Jim Shore  Santa, well, a good buy, he came home with me.
I just love the things that Jim Shore does, the animals and angels, santa's, all dressed in Patchwork squares.
What a nice self present for a quilter.

Oh by the way, I forgot my tea, but did get a cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little "coucou" to Mom today

I don't have many pictures of Mom on the computer, but this is a nice one, and she seemed so happy.  Time goes by fast, seems like yesterday that she was here with us.

Another UFP

This has been around for quite awhile, in the beginning it is a small colorwash project that I never finished, so
now  it is going to be a finished colorwash applique.  Placing my leaves and tulips, still have more tulips to do but I think I have got a good start.   I would have liked to do daisies, or black eyed Susan's, but short on yellow fabric and the white daisies did not really show up on the light background.
